Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Inpatient Rehab (Travel/Contract)

Position Details

• Shift: 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (08:00 AM - 04:30 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Call Requirement: None
• Weekend Requirement: Yes, on a rotation basis
• Holiday Requirement: Preferred, every other holiday
• Floating Requirement: None

Patient Care & Unit Information

• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1 PT to 5 patients daily (7-8 visits per day)
• Common Diagnoses: Stroke, amputees, post-surgical patients
• Special Procedures:

  • Gait Training
  • Therapeutic Exercise
  • Balance and Transfer Training
  • Family Training and Discharge Planning
• Unit Details: Weekly team conference for patient plan of care (POC) and progress reporting
• Special Equipment: Lite Gait body weight support system, treadmill

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year required
• First-timers: Accepted
• Certifications Required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • State Physical Therapy License
• Locals: Not accepted; candidates must live at least 50 miles away from the facility
• Charting System: Cerner

Background & Compliance

• Background check required within 90 days of start, covering the last 7 years and all states lived/worked in
• Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts required
• Physical exam required
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray required (specific testing guidelines apply)
• Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start required
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious declination required prior to start
• COVID vaccine medical exemption available with proper documentation
• Passport-style photo required for badge

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
• CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
• NIH Stroke Certification (may be required depending on unit)

Onboarding & Training

• Completion of facility-specific modules required prior to start (approx. 8-10 hours)
• Modules must be completed by 1 PM CST Friday before start date
• Candidates are paid for module completion hours

• Facility requires confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement completion before starting
• Candidates should plan accordingly for all onboarding and compliance steps to ensure a smooth start
