Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position

Location: Latrobe, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • ARRT-R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography) required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
  • NIH Stroke Certification (must be updated annually)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) required for ER & Behavioral Health units (if applicable)
  • National Tech Certification as applicable (e.g., ASCP-HT or ASCP-HTL for Histology techs)
  • State License verification (primary source online verification)

• Background Checks:

  • Within 30 days of start date
  • Includes SS Trace, County searches (last 7 years), Nationwide, Sex Offender, PA Statewide Patch Certificate
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Fingerprinting (specific process and timing apply)

• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON Gold, or Tspot) within 1 year; if past positive, negative chest x-ray within 1 year
  • Annual TB questionnaire for past positive TB
  • Immunizations or positive titers within 10 years for:

    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • Negative 15-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or accepted declination during flu season (10/1/2024 – 4/1/2025)

• Competency Exams:

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet/exceed Angoff score)
  • General Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet/exceed Angoff score)

• Facility-Specific Requirements:

  • Completion of orientation checklist, pandemic attestation, code of conduct, confidentiality agreement, disclosure statement, and other facility-specific documents prior to start
  • Completion of various training modules and quizzes (e.g., patient policy assessment, interdisciplinary plans of care, skin integrity, mobility, catheter training) with 100% passing score on quizzes
  • Signed job description required

• References:

  • 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years)
  • 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care roles

Summary

This is a travel/contract position in Radiology/Cardiology requiring current BLS and ARRT-R certifications. The contract length is approximately 13 weeks. Candidates must complete comprehensive background checks, health screenings, and facility-specific onboarding requirements prior to starting. Multiple certifications and competency exams are mandatory, along with up-to-date immunizations and drug screening.
