Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Nurse (Contract)

Location: Herrin, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)

Job Description

• Work in Endoscopy department
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 am - 5:00 pm, with on-call requirements
• On-call duties: up to 2 weeknights and 2 weekend days, with a 45-minute callback time
• May float to other facilities within the organization as needed
• Available overtime

Required Experience & Skills

• Proficient in endoscopy procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, PEG tube placement, bronchoscopy, esophageal stent, and pain procedures
• Able to perform moderate sedation
• Experience with EPIC charting system
• Able to admit and discharge patients in the perioperative area

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ mental, physical, and spiritual needs
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Provide explanations and instructions to patients and responsible persons
• Use nursing clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition
• Manage conflict professionally to contribute to a healthy workplace environment
• Meet Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care
• Participate in continuing education
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records

Licenses and Certifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
