Position Details
- Specialty: SICU Registered Nurse
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Days 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Holiday Rotation: Yes
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

- Floating: Yes, within scope to like units/sister facilities (agency floats first)

Experience & Licensure Requirements
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year (preferably 2 years)
- First-time Travelers: Not accepted
- Licenses: South Carolina RN license or Compact license must be active prior to start
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS (AHA or ARC only)
- BLS (AHA or ARC only)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Special Requirements: Cardiac and Neuro experience required

- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Required Documentation & Compliance
Background Checks
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Must include: SSN Trace, SC Statewide, National Criminal, Sex Offender Registry, FACIS 3, International searches
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification not required for this facility
Certifications
- ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Certification required (certifications must not expire within 30 days of start)
- PALS, NRP, TNCC, Chemo certification not required for this location
- IV Therapy certification required only for select LPNs if applicable
Health Requirements
- Initial physical exam and annual updates attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or declination form required
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold not permitted; if positive, chest X-ray required)
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination required
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if low titer
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 - Apr 30)
- COVID-19 vaccinations highly preferred but not required; declination form required if not vaccinated
- Respirator medical clearance required annually for patient-facing roles
Facility Specific Documents
- First Day Instructions and OurDay Modules must be completed prior to start (approx. 4 hours)
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge required
- Signed assignment acknowledgment, code of conduct, confidentiality agreements, HR policy manual, systems user agreement, user access request, job description, HIPAA confidentiality agreement, and employee info forms required prior to start
- MINI orientation review and acknowledgement required
History & Verification
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required
- Performance evaluation dated within 12 months of start required
- Complete employment application/resume required
- Skills checklist updated annually required
- Radiation badge required for certain departments (not required for this SICU role)
- Work history verification not required for this facility
Notes
- Candidates must have all certifications valid beyond 30 days from start date or renew prior to start
- Walk-through (temporary) SC RN license process available for candidates without permanent SC license, with restrictions
- All licensure and certification hits must be approved by facility prior to start
- Travelers must upload COVID and flu vaccine documentation into the facility’s system as instructed
This position is ideal for experienced SICU RNs with cardiac and neuro skills who hold or can obtain a South Carolina or Compact RN license and meet the certification and health requirements. The role offers a structured day shift schedule with holiday and weekend rotations in a facility using Epic charting and providing free parking.
