Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Lacey, Washington
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Position Details

  • Role: Radiation Therapist
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Shift: 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (Day shift)
  • Daily Caseload: 50-60 patients
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year (First-timers accepted)
  • Weekend Requirement: No
  • On-call Requirement: No
  • Floating: Required (travelers regularly float between various like units within skill set)
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated at this time
  • Local Candidates: Not eligible if residing within 50 miles of the facility
  • Pending License: Accepted
  • Charting System: EPIC

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ARRT-T (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Therapeutic)
  • Washington State License

Special Skills / Requirements

  • Experience with SRS, SBRT, IMRT, 3D, IGRT, electron setups
  • Ability to manage a variety of malignant and benign patient diagnoses

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

  • Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Includes SSN Trace, Death Master Index, Counties, Nationwide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification, MVR (if applicable), and international background search if applicable
  • Returning candidates with less than 30-day gap may not require new background check
  • State-specific searches required for Washington and border facilities
  • OBRA Registry search required for CNAs in Washington Skilled Nursing Facilities only

Health Documents

  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start (signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO)
  • Fit Mask test (annual, travel only)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months (annual update required)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 Vaccine or declination (required if onsite)
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance (annual for travel)

References and Employment History

  • Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting (6 months for CNAs)
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
  • Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)

Training and Competency Requirements

Mandatory Training Modules (via WorkRamp LMS)

  • Core and specialty-specific modules assigned based on region, profession, and specialty
  • Annual regulatory modules required for all caregivers (except some non-clinical and specific roles)
  • Epic training modules required prior to moving to Paid Day Work status (PDW)
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable

Certifications to Verify (if applicable)

  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, Electronic Fetal Monitoring, IV Certification, Management of Assaultive Behavior, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI, and others as per clinical track

Additional Notes

  • Floating policy acknowledgment required
  • Radiation badges issued by facility (not traveler responsibility)
  • Photo for badge required (passport style with neutral background)
  • All required documents and certifications must be submitted and verified prior to start
  • Local travelers within 50 miles are not eligible for travel contract

This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized outpatient cancer care setting with a high patient volume and requires flexibility to float between units. It is ideal for Radiation Therapists with at least one year of experience who hold the necessary certifications and licenses for Washington state.
