Job Opportunity: Echo Tech (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Perform diagnostic cardiac echocardiology procedures independently using proper techniques and protocols.
• Operate equipment within scope of practice and registry guidelines.
• Coordinate patient flow and activities within the Cardiopulmonary Department.
• Maintain equipment in good working condition using professional judgment.
• May perform other cardiology procedures in different modalities as needed.
• Possible on-call responsibilities.

Shift Details

• Monday to Friday
• 5 shifts per week, 8 hours each
• Shift hours: 7:45 AM – 4:15 PM

Qualifications

Education

• Minimum: Associate degree in Allied Health
• Area of Study: Ultrasound/Sonographer

Licensure/Certification

• Registered Cardiac Sonographer credentialed by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
• CPR Certification required

• Residency declaration if using a Compact Nursing license

Background Checks

• 7-year criminal background check including SSN trace, national or all states, all counties, and national sex offender registry
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check

Certifications

• ACLS (AHA only) – required for RNs (not applicable for this role)
• BLS (AHA only) – required for all clinical positions
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) not applicable unless specified by unit
• State license verification (Ohio)
• Tech certification verification (primary source)

Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (within 2 years)
• Unit-specific competency exam (within 2 years)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (not applicable for this role)

Health Requirements

• Physical exam within 2 years, indicating fitness to work and free of communicable diseases
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual update if past positive)
• Immunizations or proof of immunity: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (vaccination series, immune titer, or declination)
• Drug screening: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 12 months prior to documentation due date (including marijuana panel)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
• Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

Facility Specific

• Annual health questionnaire
• Candidate agreement form fully completed prior to documentation due date

History & References

• Two professional references within 2 years (one must be a manager/supervisor/charge nurse) or employment verification if references unavailable
