Registered Nurse (OR RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Jacksonville, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
• Charting System: Epic experience required
• Travel Experience: Preferred
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Unit Experience: General, Orthopedics, OB/GYN, GI, Colorectal, ENT, Pain management
• Call Requirement: Approximately 30% call; recovery time may be needed after call

Candidate Restrictions

• Candidates residing in certain Texas counties (e.g., Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, Morris) are not eligible for this travel contract.

Required Documentation & Compliance

Identification & Employment Verification

• I9 form (for direct candidates) or attestation (for subcontractors)
• Valid Driver’s License or State ID
• E-Verify compliance
• 7-year background check (including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender check, education verification)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire
• Fingerprinting (time-sensitive for certain states; not applicable here)
• Education verification (highest level required)

Licensure & Certifications

• Primary source verification of state nursing license
• NURSYS verification for RN license
• Additional certifications as applicable:

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy certification)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA compliance)

Competency Requirements

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% or Angoff score)
• Color Blindness testing (online acceptable)
• Core competency exams (annual for subcontractors)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types accepted)
• Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with follow-up for positive results)
• TB questionnaire within 90 days of start (annual if positive)
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (or declination)
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
