Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Cartersville, Georgia
Specialty: Registered Nurse (WOCN certification required)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Unit Details
- Must have WOCN certification
- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- No weekends or call required
- Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
- Minimum Experience: 2 years (first-time travelers accepted)
Assignment Expectations
- If one major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
- If two major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
- If three major holidays fall, traveler expected to work two
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance push start by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Locals accepted at same rate
Required Certifications & Verifications
- WOCN Certification (required)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs in many specialties; AHA or ARC accepted
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required except for some tech roles; AHA or ARC accepted
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for RNs in PACU, Pre-op, Endo, CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), ER
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required as per specialty
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire; no renewal required
- State License Verification: Must be licensed in Georgia
- NURSYS Verification: Annual verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Tech Cert Verification (if applicable): National certification verification within 30 days prior to start
- NIH Stroke Certification: If required, must be completed yearly
- Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG competency (specific units), color blind testing, and general competency exams required by Aya (not client)
- Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of start; includes criminal, sex offender, education verification, and more
- Education Verification: Degree verification required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
- References: Two clinical references required by Aya (not client)
- Skills Checklist: Updated within 12 months
- Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: Within 12 months of start; if positive history, additional documentation required
- TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
- Immunizations:
- Rubeola (Measles): 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Mumps: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or signed declination
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions
- Flu Vaccination: Required or declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
Facility Specific Requirements
- Review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
- Delineation of Privileges required only for CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant and RNFA specialties
Additional Notes
- Floating may be required within the facility as needed
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
- Aya offer process includes manager review within 48 hours after candidate confirmation
- RTO (Return to Office) maximum 7 days
This position is suitable for RNs with WOCN certification and at least 2 years of experience, including first-time travelers. The role offers a Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends or call, and requires full compliance with certifications, health screenings, and facility policies.
