Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery

Location: Sioux City, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Provide professional and clinical care as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • May be required to float within the same discipline across local campuses.
  • Must be comfortable floating to Post-Partum 1-2 shifts per week.
  • High-risk patient population with a large number of non-English speaking patients.
  • Nurses perform triage and assessments prior to physician evaluation (physician not onsite 24/7).
  • Experience with high volume delivery centers preferred (200-300 deliveries/month).

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience required.
  • Circulating experience required; scrub experience encouraged.
  • Multiple travel contracts completed encouraged.
  • High-risk experience required.
  • Experience within the past year at larger, high-volume delivery centers (200-300 deliveries/month).
  • High acuity experience required.
  • EPIC STORK experience encouraged (note in profile).

Certifications

  • ACLS (AHA)
  • AWHONN
  • BLS (AHA)
  • NRP

Licensure

  • Valid Iowa nursing license (Compact license allowed).

Additional Information

  • Must have a taxable address at least 50 miles from the facility (local travelers not accepted).
  • Required to work 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving).
  • Limit of 1 day off request between 11/26/25-11/30/25 and 12/23/25-1/2/26 for all travelers regardless of holidays worked.
  • Orientation dates available in late 2025.

Submission Requirements

  • Work history/resume.
  • Home/taxable address documentation (e.g., driver’s license, utility bill, lease agreement, mortgage statement, insurance statement, voter registration, bank statement, auto insurance, or tax return).
  • Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission.
  • License verification.
  • Copy of BLS (AHA) or ARC certification.
  • References highly preferred (may be required during onboarding).

Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System

  • EPIC

Notes

  • High volume, high acuity L&D environment with significant responsibility for patient triage and assessment.
  • Must be adaptable and able to float to postpartum units as needed.
