Travel Dialysis RN - Acute
Location: Scranton, Pennsylvania
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Dialysis

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, Days (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- On Call: Every other weekend and select weekdays as needed
- Holiday Coverage: Possible call for Thanksgiving and Christmas; open on New Year's Day
- Experience Required: 1-2 years recent acute dialysis experience
- Certifications: BLS/CPR required
- Preferred Experience: Previous hospital dialysis experience preferred
- EMR System: Cerner preferred
- Scrub Colors: Navy and White
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide acute inpatient hemodialysis treatment
- Manage dialysis access including Central Venous Catheter (CVC), Arteriovenous Fistula (AVF), and Arteriovenous Graft (AVG)
- Monitor patients for complications during dialysis
- Document care accurately and ensure safe and efficient delivery of dialysis therapy
- Set up, operate, and disinfect dialysis machines and water systems according to policy
- Utilize nursing process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies
- Demonstrate critical thinking, clinical judgment, and leadership
- Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience
- Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care
Unit Information
- Number of beds in unit: Varies based on census
- Average treatments: 40-60 acute dialysis treatments per month
- Patient ratio: 1-2 patients per RN; 3-4 patients with Patient Care Technician (PCT) support
- 48-hour shift guarantees are NOT available
- Blocked scheduling may be requested

- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently required
- Travel assignment with no interviews (auto offers only)
