Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Warren, Minnesota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Full-time position
- Night shifts
- Must be comfortable floating between Medical-Surgical and Emergency Room units
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Must hold a valid Minnesota nursing license
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred)
- PALS certification required and must be kept up to date during the contract
Required Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Competency Exam (as applicable)
- State License verification (primary source online verification)
- National Tech Certification (if applicable)
- Continuing Education Units (CEUs) as per state requirements
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Emergency Contact Form prior to start
- Standard background check including:
- 7-year SS Trace and county searches
- Nationwide sex offender check
- Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Minnesota DHS Net Study Fingerprint Clearance (mandatory before start):
- Candidate must complete the MN DHS Net Study Questionnaire immediately after signing contract
- Fingerprints must be completed within 2 weeks of registration
- Candidates cannot start work with fingerprints pending unless approved by facility with a “more time needed” letter
- References:
- 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care
- 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care (not required for non-clinical roles)

Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date
- Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year or negative chest x-ray if past positive PPD
- Annual TB questionnaire as per state requirements
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
- Varicella (titer, vaccination, or history of chickenpox)
- 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
- Facility requires a secondary on-site drug screen and completion of HR documents prior to start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (October 1 - March 31)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
Facility-Specific Requirements
- CNAs must complete 12 hours of Alzheimer’s/Dementia/Elder Abuse training annually (if applicable)
Important Notes
- Candidates must comply with all Minnesota state-specific fingerprinting and background check laws before starting
- Fingerprinting registration and completion are time-sensitive and must be prioritized
- Candidates may need to travel to a location offering livescan fingerprinting if not available locally
This position is ideal for experienced RNs licensed in Minnesota who are flexible with floating between med-surg and ER, and who meet all certification, background, and health requirements.
