Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Warren, Minnesota
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Full-time position
• Must have a Minnesota nursing license
• Comfortable floating between Medical-Surgical and Emergency Room units
• Night shift
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred)
• PALS certification required and must be kept up to date during the contract

Required Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• National Tech Certification as applicable
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must meet or exceed passing score)
• Competency Exam (as applicable)

Licensure & Background Checks

• Must have a valid Minnesota nursing license with primary source verification
• Background checks required annually including:

  • 7-year search (SS Trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender registry)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check
  • HHS/OIG check
• Minnesota DHS Net Study Fingerprint clearance is mandatory before starting work (no pending fingerprints allowed)
• Candidates must complete the MN DHS Net Study Questionnaire immediately after signing the contract
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 2 weeks of registration
• Candidates may need to travel to a livescan location if not within driving distance

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year; if past positive, negative chest x-ray within 1 year required
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccination, or history of chickenpox)
• 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
• Facility requires a secondary on-site drug screen and completion of HR documents prior to start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (October 1 - March 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required

Additional Requirements

• Emergency contact form required prior to start
• Two professional references required for travel, allied, and per diem acute care roles (one reference for per diem non-acute care)
• Annual skills checklist required
• CNAs (if applicable) must complete 12 hours of Alzheimer’s/Dementia/Elder Abuse training annually (Minnesota state requirement)

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract RN position in Minnesota requiring night shift availability, flexibility to float between med-surg and ER, and current Minnesota licensure. Candidates must meet strict background, fingerprinting, health, and certification requirements before starting.
