Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: Newnan, Georgia
Facility: Hospital within Piedmont Healthcare system
Unit Details
- Patient Diagnoses: Orthopedic, Bariatric, Renal & General Surgery, Abdominal pain, CHF Exacerbations, Renal
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
- Call: None
- Floating: Within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Minimum Experience: 2 years (first-time travelers accepted)
Contract Length
- 12 weeks
Work Requirements
- Must work major holidays if they fall during assignment:
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving/Black Friday
- Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
- New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day
- Orientation hours vary by contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
- Full compliance with onboarding required to start on time; delays may push start by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Locals accepted at same rate
Required Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for many specialties including ER, PACU, Critical Care, Cardiac Telemetry, Labor & Delivery, etc.
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required except for some tech roles
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for RN’s in PACU, ER, and other pediatric-accepting areas
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required if specialty indicates
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire (no renewal required)
- State License: Must be valid and verified within 30 days prior to start (Georgia license required for CRTs & RRTs)
- NURSYS Verification: Annual verification within 30 days prior to start
- NIH Stroke Certification: If required by specialty
- Tech Cert Verification: National certification verification if applicable
- Competency Exams: Medication test, Dysrhythmia/EKG competency (3 attempts max), color blind testing, and general competency exams required by Aya
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including criminal, sex offender, FACIS, and education verification
- Education verification required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
- Transcript/diploma required for Respiratory Therapists (RRTs)
- Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (can start with TB test pending if questionnaire on file)
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions)
- Flu vaccination or declination required for flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
References & Work History
- Two clinical references required by Aya (not required by client)
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months required
- Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
Additional Notes
- Manager reviews candidate profile within 48 hours of confirmation to determine fit
- Maximum Return to Office (RTO) time: 7 days
- If multiple major holidays fall during assignment, traveler expected to work most of them as specified
- Facility may require floating within scope of practice
