Location: Columbia, South Carolina

Job Description
- Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each, Monday to Thursday, 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM
- No on-call duties
- Work primarily involves pediatric MRI scanning (including neonates, stroke, trauma patients) with some adult inpatient/outpatient MRI
- Experience required with GE and Siemens MRI equipment (1.5T and 3T)
- Previous experience in a Children's Hospital setting preferred
- Must be certified Radiologic Technologist through ARRT (not ARMRIT)
Required Certifications & Licenses
- ARRT Radiologic Technologist Certification (mandatory)
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA, RQI, or ARC only; must be instructor-led, no online-only cards accepted
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for all pediatric units and ER
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for NICU, Pediatrics, and infants (AHA Advanced NRP only)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for certain units (verify if applicable)
- State License: Primary source verification required; must be valid and not expiring within 30 days of start
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., TNCC for ER, MAB or CPI for Behavioral Health)
Compliance & Background Requirements
- 7-year background check within 12 months of start date, including SS trace, aliases, state and county searches for all states/counties lived or worked in last 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and every 30 days thereafter
- Education verification of highest level completed (diplomas not accepted as placeholders)
- Drug screening within 1 year of start, updated annually (5-panel minimum)
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working in high-risk areas)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or approved exemption required by deadlines
- Respirator fit test completed onsite during orientation (N95 masks commonly used)
Orientation & Training
- Online orientation modules must be completed within 72 hours of assignment
- Pre-assignment testing (medication, EKG, arrhythmia) required within 72 hours of receiving login info; two attempts allowed
- Badge photo required prior to start (passport style, plain background, no hats or filters)
- Annual competencies and core training (Parts I, II, III) required, including OSHA, patient safety, and age-specific care
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams required for positions dispensing medication
Additional Notes
- Candidate must carry a valid driver’s license on duty for computer access setup
- Facility is latex-free; latex allergies are acceptable
- Floating policy must be signed (not required for non-clinical)
- Candidates with gaps of 30+ days between contracts require updated physical and background checks
- Returning travelers with less than 30 days between assignments may be grandfathered for background checks
This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with strong pediatric experience, ARRT certification, and the ability to work night shifts in a hospital setting focused on pediatric and adult MRI services.
