Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Warren, Minnesota
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Full-time position
• Night shifts
• Must have a Minnesota nursing license
• Comfortable floating between Medical-Surgical and Emergency Room units
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (PALS preferred and must be kept up to date)

Required Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS (Basic Life Support): Preferably from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required and must be maintained during contract
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for all RNs
• Competency Exam: Must meet or exceed passing score as applicable by profession
• State License Verification: Primary source online verification required

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Emergency Contact Form prior to start
• Standard background check including:

  • 7-year SS Trace
  • County searches for last 7 years of residence/work/school
  • Nationwide and Sex Offender checks
• Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Minnesota DHS Net Study Fingerprint Clearance:

  • Candidate must complete MN DHS Net Study Questionnaire immediately after signing contract
  • Fingerprint clearance required before starting work (no pending fingerprints allowed unless a “more time needed” letter is approved)
  • Fingerprinting must be completed within 2 weeks of registration
  • Candidate must arrange fingerprinting at a livescan location (may require travel if no local option)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year; if past positive, negative chest x-ray within 1 year required
• Annual TB questionnaire per state requirements
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccine series, or history of chickenpox)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required

Additional Requirements

• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start; instant drug screen acceptable
• Facility requires a secondary on-site drug screen and completion of HR documents prior to start (usually Thursday or Friday before Monday start)
• Professional references:

  • 2 references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles
  • 1 reference for per diem non-acute care roles
• Annual skills checklist required

Notes

• Candidate must be prepared to comply with all Minnesota-specific fingerprinting and background check laws and timelines
• Floating between Med Surg and ER requires flexibility and adaptability
• All certifications and health documents must be current and verifiable prior to start
