Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: South Bend, Indiana
Specialty: Medical-Surgical (MS) - 7th Floor Intermediate Cardiac Unit
Job Details
- Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Floating: To like or lesser units
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year (2 years preferred)
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (must live outside 50 miles)
- Pending License: Accepted if active prior to start date
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BCLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification
Clinical Requirements
- Must pass a telemetry rhythm identification quiz (proficiency in reading and reacting to cardiac rhythms is mandatory)
- Telemetry and cardiac/stroke experience required
- Some cardiac drip experience required (e.g., Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix)
- Experience with patients on hemodialysis beds (HD performed by outside company)
- Familiarity with all modes of oxygenation except ventilators

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check covering last 7 years, including all states lived/worked in
- Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts
- Physical exam
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
- TB questionnaire (prior to start and annually)
- Immunizations or titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant accepted if needed for quick start)
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious declination prior to start
- Facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement and photo for badge
- Completion of mandatory online modules (~8-10 hours) prior to start
Additional Notes
- COVID vaccine medical or religious exemptions require documentation and approval
- On-site EKG exam required for Monitor Techs (not specified if required for this RN role, but telemetry proficiency is mandatory)
- Candidates must be prepared to complete extensive pre-start training and documentation
