Description

Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina

Work Schedule

  • Days (Monday to Friday)
  • Variable start and end times

Experience & Eligibility

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Locals not accepted (50-mile radius rule)
  • Pending licenses not accepted
  • Return staff policy: Must be away for 1 year to return as a traveler
  • System contract limit: Maximum 2 contracts (can extend once), then must be off for 6 months before returning

Guaranteed Hours

  • Call-off policy allows 2 shifts off per 13-week assignment
  • After meeting call-off allowance, all contracted hours are guaranteed

Charting System

  • Epic

Required Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or Military certification required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or Military certification required
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for certain units (ED, OR, Peds ED, PICU, etc.)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for L&D, FCCU, NICU units
  • NIH Stroke Certification: Required for ED, Psych ED, ICUs, Step Down, Med Surg, L&D, Express Care; must be updated annually
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required as applicable; must be completed via Relias and renewed annually
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Required for awareness on multiple units; candidates have 3 attempts to pass with remediation required after failures

Background & Health Requirements

  • Background check required within 6 months of start (includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, international search if applicable)
  • Physical exam required within 1 year, signed by physician, NP, or PA-C; must be updated annually
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
  • Immunizations required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years)
    • Rubeola (Measles) - titer or 2 vaccines
    • Mumps - titer or 2 vaccines
    • Rubella - titer or 2 vaccines
    • Varicella - titer or 2 vaccines
    • Hepatitis B - vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days required
  • Flu vaccine required year-round; medical or religious exemptions accepted with facility-specific approval and annual renewal
  • COVID-19 vaccination not required but documentation accepted

Facility-Specific Policies & Documents

  • Photo for badge required (professional passport-style photo with solid background; no large earrings, face piercings, unnatural hair colors, or head coverings unless religious)
  • Completion and signing of various facility forms prior to start, including:
    • Agency Personnel Form
    • Emergency Contact Form
    • Confidentiality and Information Agreement
    • Patient Identification Agreement
    • Conflict of Interest Questionnaire
    • Staff Call Out Acknowledgement
    • Corporate Code of Conduct Acknowledgement
    • Policy Tech Access Acknowledgement
    • Professional Appearance Acknowledgment
    • Parking Registration (if driving to work)
    • Computer Use Acknowledgement
  • Completion of mandatory modules through Workday prior to start (due Monday before start date)
  • Compliance with facility flu policy and annual flu acknowledgment form
  • COVID-19 religious and medical exemption forms require facility approval

Additional Notes

  • Return to work restrictions and contract limits are strictly enforced
  • Background check disqualifies candidates with conviction dispositions within the last year or open/active cases
  • Candidates must be prepared for orientation on the first Monday of assignment, which may last most of the day
