Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Schedule: Weekend and holiday rotation required
- No call required
- Floating: All travelers must float between Cone Health campuses as needed
- Experience: Minimum 2 years required; first-time travelers are welcome
Required Skills and Experience
- Cardiac Telemetry experience required
- Management and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Peripheral line care/management, including PICC line management
- Ability to titrate drips
- Experience with Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Certification required
Certifications and Testing Requirements
- Mandatory Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA or ARC)
- BLS (AHA or ARC)
- NIH Stroke Certification (required for Cardiac Progressive Care and MS/Tele units)
- Pass/Fail Testing:
- Dysrhythmia/EKG exam required for all RNs (except Behavioral Health and Case Managers)
- EPIC test required based on specialty (2 attempts allowed, additional attempts may be approved onsite)
- Other Certifications:
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) may be preferred (not required for Behavioral Health RNs)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) may be preferred for certain units
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (required for badge)
- Background Check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including:
- All aliases on SSN trace
- National criminal search, federal court, sex offender registry, FACIS Level 3
- Education verification (including foreign equivalency if applicable)
- Education Verification: Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required
- High School Diploma/GED verification as applicable
- Employment Application/Resume with 7-year work history
- Work History Verification for last 5 years through third-party vendor
- Two supervisory references required (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)
- Skills Checklist updated annually (one-week grace period)
- Facility-specific documents including floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement
- Badge photo meeting strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual/uniform attire)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam (if applicable)
- Fit Mask test (annual, specific approved N95 respirators required)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination proof
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Qgold/TSPOT within 6 months)
- TB Questionnaire (within 30 days of start, updated annually)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer proof
- Hepatitis B titer or declination with booster documentation if needed
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer proof
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required by 10/20)
- COVID-19 vaccination or declination accepted
Additional Notes
- Floating between campuses is mandatory
- Zero tolerance for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Compliance deadlines are strict and must be met prior to start
- Candidates must be flexible with scheduling
- First-time travelers are accepted
