Job Details

• Floating: Yes, within scope and between like units

• Locals Accepted: No (50-mile radius rule from main campus)
• Pending License: Not accepted
• Return to Work Restrictions: Per manager discretion
• Guaranteed Hours: Call-off policy allows 2 shifts off per 13-week assignment; after that, all contracted hours are guaranteed
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Military
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Military
• NIH Stroke Certification - Must be updated annually

Competency & Testing Requirements

• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required and must be renewed annually
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Required for awareness; candidates have 3 attempts to pass with 80% or higher
• Acknowledgment of Pass/Fail Testing: Required for multiple units including Med Surg, Tele, ICUs, Step Down, etc.

Background Checks & Verifications

• Background check required within 6 months of start (includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, and international search if applicable)
• Education verification or diploma/transcript required
• Convictions within the last year or active cases will disqualify

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical Exam: Within 1 year, signed by physician, NP, or PA-C; updated annually
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Within last 10 years; no declinations accepted for new hires
• Negative TB Test or Chest X-Ray: Within 1 year of start; annual renewal not required but TB screening form must be completed annually
• Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted for new hires
• Hepatitis B: Vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days required
• Flu Vaccine: Required year-round; medical or religious exemptions accepted with facility-approved documentation; must be updated annually
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required but accepted if available

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Must comply with return staff policy: must be gone 1 year before returning as a traveler
• System limits to 2 contracts (can extend once), then must be gone 6 months before returning
• Photo for badge required (passport-style, no large earrings, face piercings, unnatural hair colors, or head coverings unless religious)

Additional Notes

• Locals within 50 miles of the main campus are not accepted for this travel position
• Floating between like units may be required to meet facility needs
