Description

Registered Nurse - Med-Surg Unit (Adult Geriatrics & Pediatrics)

Location: Fort Defiance, Arizona
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Provide nursing care on a 20-bed medical-surgical unit serving both adult geriatrics and pediatric patients.
Staffing Ratios:
- Non-COVID patients: typically 4:1, max 5:1
- COVID patients: typically 2:1, max 3:1
May assist with Flu Immunization clinics as needed.
Expected to attend staff meetings.
Occasionally float to other qualified departments, either taking patient loads or performing task-oriented duties (e.g., answering call lights, phones).

Shift Details

12-hour shifts
Shift assignment may vary; flexibility required to work different shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Required Experience & Certifications

Minimum 3 years med-surg nursing experience.
At least 1 year pediatric nursing experience.
Must be comfortable working with both adult and pediatric patients.
Certifications required:
- American Heart Association BLS
- ACLS
- PALS

Orientation

Orientation sessions held on Mondays only.
Missing compliance deadlines will delay orientation to the following Monday.
