Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Quincy, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Nights with every other weekend off
- Hours: 36-48 hours per week
- Float as needed
- Block scheduling can be partially accommodated
- Target patient ratio: 1:5 - 1:6 (occasionally 1:7, but not often)
- Holiday Return to Office (RTO) is allowed
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Current Illinois State Nursing License
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association (AHA) preferred
- NIH Stroke Certification (required and must be updated annually)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, required for Cath lab, ER, ICU, PACU, PCU, Tele, CCU, CVICU
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only, required for ER, PICU, PEDI, PACU
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA only, required for Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, Postpartum, NICU, Nursery
Preferred (not required):
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy) certification for Oncology
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) for ER
Required Documents & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) - 2 forms required
- Background Check: 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, including SSN trace, county searches, national criminal and sex offender checks, education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (must be done annually and within 30 days of start)
- Education Verification (Diploma or Transcript acceptable)
- Competency Exams: Medication/Pharmacology test, unit-specific competency exam, minimum passing score 80% or meet Angoff score
- Core Competency Parts I, II, III (must be updated annually)
- OSHA mandatory training (annual)
- Facility-specific documents including photo for badge, employee health forms, safety information, code of conduct, confidentiality agreements, mandated reporter acknowledgement, parking tag request, and contract employee checklist
- Physical Exam: within 30 days of start, must state traveler is in good health and cleared to work without restrictions
- N95 Fit Test within 12 months of start (specific mask models required)
- Immunizations and Titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or signed declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD or equivalent)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: proof of immunity by titer or vaccination series or declination
- Hepatitis B: proof of immunity by titer, vaccination series, or declination
- Varicella: proof of immunity by titer, vaccination series, or declination
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen dated within 30 days of start, repeated annually (no rapid results accepted)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31) with deadline November 18
- COVID-19 Vaccination: Proof of vaccination required prior to start; Illinois state policy accepts vaccine, medical/religious exemptions, or declinations
References & Work History
- At least 2 recent professional references required (within 3 years)
- Employment application and verification of last 3 years of work history required
- Skills checklist required annually
