Location: Saratoga Springs, New York

Job Description
- Position: Radiation Therapist
- Required Experience: Minimum 3 years
- Education: AAS in Radiation Therapy Technology or equivalent
- Licensure: New York State license required
- Certifications: ARRT preferred, BLS preferred
- Experience with Varian TrueBeam Linac and ARIA record and verification EMR required
- Local travel radius: 50 miles (with county restrictions on primary residence)
Required Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Preferred from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Preferred
- NIH Stroke Certification: Required for certain units; may be assigned during orientation if not on file
- EKG/ECG Testing: Must pass advanced EKG/ECG test with at least 85-90% score depending on unit; up to 3 attempts allowed with remediation
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required as applicable
- Color Blind Testing: Preferred
- State License Verification: Primary source online verification required
- Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training: Required for RNs and LVN/LPNs per New York State mandate
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start; onsite physical required with specific forms completed
- Fit Mask / N95 OSHA Questionnaire: Required; quantitative fit test for 3M 1870 mask accepted
- TB Testing: Negative 2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold within 1 year; chest x-ray if past positive PPD
- Immunizations & Titers:
- Measles (Rubeola): Proof of immunity or 2 MMR doses
- Mumps: Proof of immunity or 2 MMR doses
- Rubella: Proof of immunity or 1 vaccine
- Varicella: Proof of immunity or 2 vaccines
- Hepatitis B: Titer, declination, or vaccine series
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
- Flu Vaccine: Required or approved exemption by December 5, 2024; mask required if exempt
- Eye Exam: Ishihara color deficiency test required prior to start
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Preferred but not mandated
Background & Compliance Checks
- Standard background check including 7-year search, SS trace, county searches, nationwide, and sex offender registry
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks annually
- New York Statewide Central Register LDSS - 3370 Form for behavioral health travelers (time sensitive)
Facility-Specific Requirements
- FCRA Authorization Release signed prior to start
- Lift assessment (typically 25 lbs, may vary by position)
- Completion of HealthStream virtual orientation modules before start date
- Various facility-specific forms and questionnaires to be completed during occupational health appointment or orientation
References
- 2 professional references required for travel, allied, and per diem acute care roles
- 1 professional reference required for per diem non-acute care roles

- Candidates residing in certain counties (Warren, Washington, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Albany, Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, Ulster) may face contract restrictions or limitations on extensions.
- Contract length is interpreted as 8 weeks.
This position is ideal for experienced Radiation Therapists licensed in New York who meet the certification and health requirements and are comfortable with travel/contract assignments within the specified local radius.
