Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position

Location: Somerville, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work hours: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
• Approximately 7 cases per day
• Requires 1 year of clinical experience
• Procedures involved: Cardiac Catheterizations, Pacemaker (PPM) implants, Peripheral Angiographies
• First-time travelers accepted
• On-call requirement: 9 shifts per month

  • Monday-Thursday: 5 PM - 6 AM
  • 1 weekend per month: Friday 5 PM - Saturday 6 AM, Saturday 6 AM - Sunday 6 AM
• Locals accepted
• Required experience with Philips X-ray, Impella, Balloon pump, Acist injector

Required Licenses & Certifications

• State license (New Jersey)
• ARRT (R) certification or CCI RCIS accepted as alternative
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required for Interventional Radiology RN and other specified units
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy certification)

On-Call & Scheduling

• On-call 9 shifts per month with overnight and weekend coverage as specified

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 1 year clinical experience in relevant specialty
• Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures and related equipment
• Ability to handle multiple cases daily (approx. 7 cases)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start (including aliases, nationwide, sex offender, etc.)
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel urine drug screen)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe
• Physical exam within 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
• Immunizations and titers: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Influenza vaccine or approved exemption
• Fit test and respiratory medical clearance as required
• Color blindness test if job tasks require color discrimination
• Completion of medication/pharmacology competency exams and EKG/dysrhythmia competency exams within 72 hours of signing
• Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history
• References: 2 references within last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
• Skills checklist updated annually
• Compliance with facility-specific policies including flu vaccination attestation, annual education sign-off, and floating policy

Additional Notes

• Any Return to Office (RTO) or accommodation requests must be submitted with application
• Candidates with name changes must provide proof or documentation of name change process
• Candidates switching between RWJ sites within 30 days may have some documentation accepted from previous assignment
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) training required for ER, Pediatric ER, and Behavioral Health RNs (online and in-person portions)
• Various CEU requirements depending on specialty and unit (e.g., Stroke, Trauma, Surgical Tech CEUs)
• Vendor medical clearance form required for candidates with history of positive TB test
• Annual education and safety training required prior to start and annually thereafter

This is a travel/contract position in Radiology/Cardiology requiring clinical experience with cardiac cath lab procedures and related equipment. The role involves a full-time schedule with on-call responsibilities including nights and weekends.
