Job Opportunity: MRI Technologist (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Lansing, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule & Work Details
- Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
- Outpatient facility setting
- No floating required
- No on-call duties
- Guaranteed hours:
- 36 hours for 3 shifts (12-hour shifts)
- 48 hours for 4 shifts (12-hour shifts)
- 40 hours for shifts under 12 hours (8 or 10-hour shifts)
Position Requirements
- Specialty: MRI Technologist
- Start Date: ASAP
- Experience: Minimum 1 year required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Certifications required by start date:
- State license (Michigan)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: Not required
- Locals accepted (no local radius rule)
Preferred Skills & Experience
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- Experience in a high-volume Level 1 trauma center
- Patient age groups served: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Work settings: Outpatient, Inpatient, ER, Level 1 Trauma, Community Hospital
- General skills: IV starts, PACS, Contrast administration
- MRI procedure experience including:
- Abdomen, Pelvis, Head/Neck, Chest, Spine, Musculoskeletal
- CINE, Diffusion (non-brain), Gradient Echo Imaging
- Image Post-Processing, Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP)
- Multiplanar Reconstruction (MPR), Spin Echo Images
- Surface Coils, T-1 Weighted Images, T-2 Weighted Images

Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License/State ID (must be current and renewed if expiring during assignment)
- Social Security Card
- E-Verify compliance
- Background checks within 30 days of start, including:
- 7-year Social Security Number Trace
- National Criminal History Search (7 years)
- National Sex Offender Database Search
- FACIS Level 3 Search
- Education verification
- State license verification (Michigan) within 30 days of start
- High school diploma/GED verification (except for RNs)
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen with THC within 30 days of start (no medical marijuana cards or dilute screens accepted)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start (must note latex sensitivity)
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, plus annual TB questionnaire
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or immunity titers)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, vaccination series, or declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or immunity titers)
- Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- OSHA Respirator Fit Mask form completed at least 1 week prior to start; fit testing onsite at orientation
Certifications & Training
- BLS (American Heart Association or RQI accepted)
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC as applicable (mostly for ER or specific roles)
- Tech Certification Verification (ARRT and CT endorsements if applicable)
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
Additional Notes
- Modules for specific units may be required prior to start or completed onsite during orientation
- Facility-specific documents and agreements must be completed prior to start
- References: 2 previous employer references required
- Resume with 7-year work history required
