Travel RN Opportunity - Med Surg Unit in Rockport, Maine

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Unit: 45-bed Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) Unit
• Shift: Day shift, 06:45 AM – 07:15 PM
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, 36 hours
• Float Requirements: Yes
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Experience & Certifications

• Minimum Experience: 1 year preferred
• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• Preferred Certification: PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – preferred but not mandatory for travelers
• Education Modules: Assigned LMS modules

Unit Information

• Patient Ratios:

  • Days: 1 nurse to 5 patients
  • Nights: 1 nurse to 6 patients
• Patient Population:

  • Medical-surgical patients including orthopedic, general surgery, and urology
  • Common diagnoses: CHF (Congestive Heart Failure), COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), Pneumonia
  • Pediatric patients admitted to general floor; PALS required to care for pediatric patients but not mandatory for travelers
• Equipment Used: Plum pumps, Pyxis medication system, Ascom phones, bladder scanner, EKG machine, Phillips Cardiac Monitor
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

• Patient-focused and organized
• Proficient in IV skills and telemetry monitoring
• Accurate documentation skills
• Positive, professional, and a team player

Dress Code

• Scrubs: Any solid color, clean and in good repair; no prints
• Unacceptable attire: Hoodies, Crocs, or any shoes with holes or open toes

This position offers a travel contract on a busy med-surg unit with a supportive team environment and a focus on quality patient care.
