Description

Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position

Location: Knoxville, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Requirements & Qualifications

  • Start Date: After 12/21/2025
  • Certification:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA approved
    • ARRT(R) with advanced certification in one of the following:
      • Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI)
      • Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV)
      • Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI)
  • Experience:
    • Recent required experience in Radiology/Cardiology
    • Neuro/Stroke experience required
  • Skills:
    • PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
    • Contrast administration
    • Biopsies
  • Equipment: Siemens systems
  • Work Schedule:
    • Rotating call: one day per week and one weekend every six weeks
    • Holiday rotation (no guaranteed time off during holidays)
  • Floating: Required to float to other hospital departments within skill set if census is low

Orientation & Onboarding

  • Bi-weekly orientation sessions

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Background Check:
    • Must be completed within 45 days of start and updated annually
    • Includes 7-year SSN trace with complete address history, aliases, national/state sex offender checks, criminal searches, abuse registry, and federal checks
    • Alias Name Attestation required if applicable
  • Licensure & Certifications:
    • Must upload actual certificates (screenshots/photos not accepted)
    • Certifications must not expire within 45 days of assignment start
    • Includes but not limited to:
      • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
      • BLS (Basic Life Support)
      • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) if applicable
      • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) if applicable
      • CHEMO, OCN, TNCC, EFM, Tech Cert Verification, State License Verification, NURSYS Verification, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) as required by unit
  • Competency Exams:
    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
    • Color Blind Testing (within 12 months)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (for RNs)
    • Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) with minimum 80% pass rate, updated annually
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, signed by MD, DO, NP, APRN, or PA
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
    • TB Questionnaire
    • Immunizations/vaccinations: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella
    • Drug testing within 45 days of start (specific drug panel required)
    • Seasonal Flu vaccination for 2025-26 (declinations not accepted; exemptions only for medical/religious reasons with proper documentation)
  • Facility Specific Documents:
    • Passport-style photo for badge (no filters or facial piercings)
    • Onboarding attestation and review of onboarding documents
    • Job description acknowledgment
    • Background Check Alias Name Attestation if applicable
  • History & References:
    • 2 supervisory references from past 3 years
    • Employment application with 7-year work history, no unexplained gaps over 30 days
    • Unit-specific skills checklist updated within the last year

Additional Notes

  • Travelers requesting time off during holidays will not be accommodated prior to arrival; requests can be addressed onsite with management after assignment start
  • Must be able to float to other departments as needed
  • Compliance with all documentation and certification requirements is mandatory for assignment start and continuation

This position is ideal for healthcare professionals with advanced ARRT certification in interventional radiography, neuro/stroke experience, and flexibility to work rotating call and float within hospital departments.
