Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Wichita Falls, Texas

Position Details

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience preferred
• No first-time travelers accepted
• 2 years of experience accepted if worked in a high volume or trauma facility

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only (Instructor, Provider, RQI acceptable)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only (Instructor, Provider, RQI acceptable)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only (Instructor, Provider, RQI acceptable)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• NIH Stroke Certification (as applicable)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) (as applicable)
• CHEMO (Chemotherapy) (as applicable)
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) (as applicable)
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) (as applicable)

Licensure & Verification

• State Nursing License verification required within 30 days of start
• NURSYS Verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP within 30 days of start
• Tech Certification Verification (for Allied/Non-RN candidates) within 30 days of start

Background Checks & Compliance

• Background check required within 1 year of start, including SS Trace, County searches (7 years), Nationwide, Sex Offender
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required and updated annually

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (2-step PPD or equivalent)
• TB Questionnaire required regardless of TB status
• Immunizations required (or proof of immunity/declination):

  • Rubeola (Measles): 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
  • Mumps: 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
  • Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series of 3, or declination accepted
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant acceptable)
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (10/1 - 5/31) with medical/religious exemption options
• COVID-19 vaccine preferred but not required

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references within 3 years of start
• Resume or employment application required
• Skills checklist required and updated annually

Facility Specific Requirements

• Flu medical or religious exemption forms if applicable
• Parking policy acknowledgment prior to start
• Various facility-specific orientation and compliance forms must be completed prior to start

This position is ideal for experienced travel nurses with trauma or high-volume experience who meet the certification and health requirements listed above.
