Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Dietitian (Travel/Contract)
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Specialty: Dietary Services
Facility Type: Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (LTACH/ICU and Inpatient Rehab)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 5x8 hour day shifts (40 hours/week)
Start Date: ASAP
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
First Timers: Not accepted
Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for one 8-hour shift per 2 weeks)
Locals: Not accepted (candidate’s permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility)
Pending License: Accepted, but strong preference for Alaska license in hand
On-call: Not required
Weekend Work: Not required
Floating: Not required
Block Schedule: Accommodation possible
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential
- Alaska State License
Required Skills and Experience
- Short Term Acute Care experience (per Unit Description)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Unit Patient Population
- Inadequate intake, malnutrition, altered nutrition-related lab values
- Altered gastrointestinal function, dysphagia
- Kidney failure, respiratory failure
- Wounds, cerebrovascular accident (CVA), spinal cord injury (SCI)
- Orthopedic injuries, brain injury (traumatic and non-traumatic)
- Limb loss, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis (MS)

- 46 Bed Inpatient Rehabilitation

Compliance and Documentation Requirements
Background Checks
- Must have a background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Includes SSN trace, death master index, nationwide and national sex offender checks, education verification, motor vehicle record (if applicable), and international background search if applicable
- Returning candidates with less than 30-day gap may not require new background check
- Specific state and facility searches as required
Health Documents
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required for travel candidates, updated annually
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or declination forms accepted:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) or positive titers
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (Alaska placements require both positive titer and vaccine series)
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination (required if onsite)
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
References and Employment History
- Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/subcontractors) with month/year format
Competency and Skills Checklists
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
Training and Modules
- Completion of Providence WorkRamp modules required prior to start, including:
- Pre-start requirements
- Specialty-specific modules if applicable
- Annual regulatory requirements (except for dietary services and some non-clinical roles)
- Epic training modules required (completion or proof of access)
Additional Notes
- Candidates must comply with Providence floating policy acknowledgment (may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance)
- Locals not accepted; must live at least 50 miles away from facility
- Strong preference for Alaska license in hand, but pending license accepted
- No weekend or on-call requirements
