Registered Nurse (Infusion/Oncology) - Travel/Contract

Location: Dalton, Georgia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour day shifts (0730 AM - 4 PM), with possible schedule adjustments based on staffing needs.
• Specialty: Infusion/Oncology Nursing

Education & Licensure

• Associate Degree (AD) in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Must hold an active Registered Nurse license in the State of Georgia.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification required.
• Chemotherapy certification from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) required within 6 months of hire or job assignment.

Experience

• Preferred: 5 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Preferred: At least 2 years of experience in chemotherapy and intravenous administration.

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to access all central and peripheral lines.
• Knowledge of Chemotherapy and Biotherapy standards per Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).
• Knowledge of Intravenous Nurses Society (INS) Standards of Practice.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Nursing skills as defined by Georgia nursing practice laws.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS) within 6 months of hire
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as applicable
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) as applicable
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of identity and eligibility to work (I9, government-issued photo ID).
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, SS trace, sex offender registry, FACIS Level 3, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG checks.
• Education verification as requested.
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
• Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually).
• Fit mask test to be completed onsite during orientation; must be renewed annually.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start, updated annually.
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31).
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption as per facility policy.

• Residency declaration if working under a compact nursing license.
