Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Overview

Seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience. The role involves performing interventional radiology procedures using Siemens imaging equipment. Normal business hours with rotating days off and call requirements.


Schedule

  • Hours: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday
  • Rotating day off
  • Call Requirements:
    • One primary weekday and one backup weekday per month
    • One weekend every 6 weeks (alternating primary or backup)

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in interventional radiology
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Skills: Proficient in Siemens imaging equipment
  • Preferred: Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform interventional radiology procedures
  • Operate Siemens imaging equipment effectively
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures
  • Maintain accurate patient records in EPIC (preferred)

Compliance & Credentialing Requirements

Background Checks

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including SS trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide check, sex offender registry, and MVR if driving is required
  • FBI and BCI fingerprinting required prior to start, with specific Ohio codes and timelines
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
  • Education accreditation verification required immediately after contract signing
  • Transcript or diploma verification required (including for foreign education)
  • Pending background check attestation allowed if fingerprint results are pending

Certifications

  • ACLS and BLS must be current and AHA-approved (Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable)
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, EFM)
  • State license verification within 30 days of start
  • Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
  • National tech certification verification within 30 days of start (if applicable)

Competencies

  • Unit-specific competency exams required
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually for RNs (not applicable for this technologist role but noted for RN candidates)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination (adult dose after age 11/12)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire required
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if low titer
  • Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series or signed declination
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer or documented medical exemption
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31) with mask requirement if declined
  • COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

Additional Requirements

  • 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership)
  • Employment application and skills checklist required
  • Facility-specific policies including dress code, hand hygiene, fraud/waste/abuse training, and ethics compliance must be reviewed and acknowledged

This position offers a structured schedule with call responsibilities and requires adherence to strict credentialing, background, and health compliance standards. Candidates should be prepared to complete all required documentation and certifications promptly.
