Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Arlington, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Duration: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Start Date: Must match the date listed in the job order.
  • Schedule: Day Shift, 11:30 AM - 10:00 PM on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Requirements

  • Licenses & Certifications:
    • Virginia Board of Medicine (VA BOM) license required (must have license or proof of application).
    • ARRT registration required.
    • BLS certification required.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with O-arm technology.
  • Operating Room (OR) skills preferred.
  • EPIC electronic health record experience preferred.

Vaccination Requirements

  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 - March 31).
  • Medical or religious flu vaccine exemptions allowed but must comply with CMS guidelines and be approved with supporting documentation.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of I9 or attestation.
  • Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during work hours.
  • Proof of E-Verify or attestation.
  • Background checks including:
    • 7-year criminal history check (all locations lived/worked in past 7 years).
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals.
    • Education verification.
  • Drug screening: Negative 11-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (time sensitive).
  • Physical exam within one year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands.
  • Fit mask test within last 12 months (exceptions apply).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; annual TB questionnaire required.
  • Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (for certain units).
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination).
  • References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
  • Work history verification for the past 7 years.

Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC certifications as applicable (check unit description).
  • National tech certification verification (ARRT for IR Tech, NCCT for CST/OR Techs).
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement including HIPAA and core testing.
  • Annual core competency exams (Core Part I, II, III).
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
  • Color blindness testing prior to start.

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion and signing of various facility policies and acknowledgements prior to start, including:
    • Code of Ethics
    • Confidentiality and Information Security Agreement
    • Dress Code
    • Hand Hygiene and Infection Control manuals and post-tests
    • Parking forms and policies
    • Vendor Access Request (VAR) form and background check through HireRight
    • Mission and Vision Statement
    • National Patient Safety Goals
    • Notice of Privacy Practices
    • Online orientation and attestation completion
  • Badge requirements: Candidates must wear both agency and facility badges at all times.
  • EPIC training: OR candidates and those attending accelerated EPIC class must complete 61 EPIC modules prior to start; others complete onsite.

Radiation Safety

  • Radiation badges required for X-Ray Techs and related specialties.
  • Attestation of Prior Radiation Exposure required for new candidates and after any 30-day assignment gap.

Notes

  • Candidates must complete a traveler checklist prior to start.
  • All documentation must be current and compliant with facility and agency standards.
  • Flu vaccine declinations are not accepted without approved medical or religious exemptions.

This position is ideal for experienced X-Ray Technologists with required licensure and certifications, seeking a 13-week travel contract in Arlington, VA with a day shift schedule.
