Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Portland, Oregon
Facility Type: Children's Hospital
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse

- Start Date: February (Any Wednesday)
- Shift: 12-hour shifts (12N - 36)
- Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Weekends and holidays required as needed
- Floating: Refusal to float as requested will result in contract cancellation. Floating within the site and across the system is expected.
Experience & Licensure Requirements
- Must have applied for or hold an Oregon RN license (proof of application/fingerprints required)
- Minimum 2 years specialty experience preferred; 1 year of strong experience may be considered
- Previous travel experience preferred
- Will train on EPIC electronic health record system
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Advanced - required for Labor & Delivery and Kids Team RN
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring or Relias Fetal Monitoring (acceptable: AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring)
- MFTI Certification preferred
Additional Requirements
- Criminal background check (7-year search including SSN trace, nationwide, sex offender, county, federal, FACIS L3, and international if applicable)
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series or signed declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 12 months
- Seasonal flu vaccine or signed declination (required annually)
- COVID vaccine documentation or declination
- Respirator medical clearance annually (unless no patient interaction)
- Two professional references (supervisory or above, within 3 years)
Facility & Work Environment
- Charting system: EPIC
- Scrub color: Any color except black and camo for all specialties/units
- Free parking in any unrestricted space
- Legacy Health expects completion of assigned education within one week of assignment
- Low census cancellation policy: must cancel 1.5 hours before shift start; mandatory cancellation allowed one shift per two-week pay period without cause or penalty
Important Notes
- Facility is open to assignments longer than 13 weeks
- Mandatory floating policy strictly enforced
- Training on EPIC provided
- Background checks and credential verifications are comprehensive and required prior to start
This position is ideal for experienced pediatric RNs with required certifications and flexibility to float within a hospital system.
