Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab) - Portland, Oregon
Position Details

Work Schedule & Requirements
- Floating between units is required based on unit needs.
- On-call required on weekdays and weekends.
- Weekends are not required.
- Block schedules are not required.
- Expected nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1.
- 48-hour shifts are not approved.
- Must have a vehicle for assignment.
- Floating may include multiple facilities in the region.
- Floating to certain locations may include incentives and accommodations.
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Current certification from AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society.
- Other certifications may be required based on unit and clinical track (e.g., Chemotherapy, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI).
- State professional nursing license and NURSYS verification required.
- IV Certification (if applicable).
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) may be required.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
- Education verification required for all candidates.
- State-specific searches and registry checks as applicable.
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start.
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years or declination.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (required during flu season).
- COVID-19 vaccination or declination.
- Respirator safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.
- Fit mask testing required for travel candidates (updated annually).
Competency and Skills
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable.
- Competency exams required by specialty.
- Color Blind Testing may be required on a unit basis.
- Skills checklists must be updated annually for applicable units.
Employment History and References
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years.
- Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
- References must be from supervisors and include month/year format.
Facility and System Specific Requirements
- Completion of Providence Health and Services WorkRamp modules prior to start, including:
- Core modules for Oregon facilities.
- Specialty-specific modules based on profession and unit.
- Annual regulatory modules.
- Epic training modules required within a week of orientation.
- Badge photo required for identification.
- Floating policy acknowledgment required.
This position is ideal for RNs with Cath Lab experience who are flexible with floating assignments and meet the comprehensive certification, background, and health requirements outlined above.
