Assignment Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift: 3x12 Variable Shift (Days or Nights; no rotation except urgent needs)
- Contract Length: 26 weeks (Traveler's choice between 13 or 26 weeks)
- Patient Ratios: 1:20
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year LTC experience
- First Timers: Not accepted
- Certifications Required: BLS
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Locals: Not accepted (must live at least 50 miles from facility)
- Pending License: Accepted if application already submitted
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Little to no RTO; must work holidays; all RTO requests must be submitted with application and approved before offer/contract signing
- Guaranteed Hours: 84 hours per 2 weeks; may be called off for 1 shift per 2 weeks
Housing & Vehicle
Housing Provided: Yes, typically 1-bedroom apartments
Housing Availability: Move-in no earlier than 72 hours before contract start; must vacate within 24 hours after contract end
Pets: Not allowed
Additional Family: Generally not allowed without approval
Cleaning: Traveler responsible for cleaning upon departure or fees apply
Vehicle Provided: Yes, company-owned shared-use vehicle
Vehicle Use: Available 72 hours before start until 24 hours after end; only traveler may operate; must provide valid driver’s license and insurance proof
Vehicle Restrictions: Use limited to “around town” within 30-mile radius; no off-road use
Time Off: Vehicle must be returned during time off and reissued upon return
Additional Costs: Tire chains available at traveler’s expense
Vehicle Return: Must be cleaned and have a full tank of gas
Required Documentation & Compliance
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and others as applicable (verify per unit requirements)
- State License verification and NURSYS verification required for RNs
- Other certifications may be required based on specialty and facility
Background Checks
- Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Various state-specific and federal checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Education verification required for all candidates
- Additional state-specific searches for Washington and Oregon placements as applicable
Health Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required for travel starts after 2/5/2024
- Immunizations: TDAP, MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B (or declination), Flu vaccine (seasonal), COVID vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Respiratory safety clearance for respirator use (annual)
Competencies & Training
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists (updated annually)
- WorkRamp LMS modules required for all caregivers, including core, specialty, and regulatory modules based on region and facility type
- Epic training modules required prior to or shortly after start date
Employment History & References
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/subcontractors)
- Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in comparable specialty (6 months for CNAs) within last 3 years
Additional Notes
- Floating policy acknowledgment required; may float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
- Locals not accepted; candidate must reside at least 50 miles from facility
- Pending licenses accepted if application submitted prior to start
- Little to no RTO allowed; must be willing to work holidays
- Facility uses Epic for charting
- Housing and vehicle provided with specific usage and cleaning requirements
