Registered Nurse (PACU/PreOp) - Travel/Contract
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital, Level 3 Trauma Center
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (PACU/PreOp)
- Shift: 4x10 hour day shifts (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday) with Thursdays off
- Call: On-call required; approximately 5-8 call shifts per month including weekends. Call begins immediately after shift ends until next shift arrives.
- Patient Ratio: 2:1 in PACU
- Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years PACU experience
- At least 1 year recent Epic experience (within the last year) is a hard requirement
- Types of Cases:
- Required: General Surgery
- Preferred: Orthopedics, Plastics, OBGYN, Cardiovascular
- Number of ORs: 5
- Floating: Nurses will float only between PACU and PreOp holding areas as needed; no floating to other units or sister facilities.
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Pending License: Not accepted
- RTO (Request Time Off) Restrictions:
- No holiday RTO allowed
- Maximum 5 total days off during the 13-week assignment
- No additional RTO after submission or while on contract
- Attendance Policy: Zero-fault attendance policy; any missed shift counts as unexcused. Two missed shifts result in a warning; three or more may result in cancellation.
Licensure & Certifications
- Required:
- Oklahoma nursing license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or American Red Cross accepted
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or American Red Cross accepted
- Preferred/Additional Certifications:
- PALS, NRP, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification as applicable (not required for this position)

- Total Staffed Beds: 171
- Charting System: Epic (experience within last year required)
- Scrub Color: Varies by unit
- Parking: Free
- Compliance: Must complete lab work within 48-72 hours of signing contract
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background check within 30 days of start (7-year criminal search including local and nationwide checks)
- Copy of diploma or transcript (unofficial acceptable if graduation date included) or education verification if transcript/diploma unavailable
- Physical exam within one year stating "cleared to work" with physician signature
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within one year (or chest X-ray within 5 years if past positive)
- Immunizations or titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series, positive titer, or signed declination)
- Varicella
- Drug test within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative results)
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - May 1)
- Two professional references required prior to start
- Annual skills checklist and competency exam for unit required
- Completion of facility-specific modules and trainings prior to start (including Oracle and WorkRamp modules)
- Badge photo with specific requirements (plain white background, no filters, front-facing)
- Signed job description, confidentiality agreement, code of conduct acknowledgment, and marketing consent form prior to start
