Description

Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Sonographer

Location: Columbus, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)


Job Description

  • Schedule:
    • Practice open 4 days/week, 7 AM - 5 PM
    • Supports OB Floor with a machine on site at the hospital across the street
    • Fridays are on-call for hospital scanning as directed by provider
  • Patient Population: Neonates and Adults
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year; first-time travelers accepted
  • Certifications Required: ARDMS, CCI, NT
  • Work Setting:
    • High-risk OB consultative practice
    • Perinatal sonography support including NT, Cardiology exams, detailed scans of multiples, and amniocentesis
  • Ratio / Census: 6 rooms, average daily census of 44
  • Unit Systems: Epic, GE Viewpoint
  • Scrub Color: Black
  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
  • Weekends: Every other weekend
  • Floating: Yes, to Columbus Midtown or Columbus North as needed within scope of practice
  • Call Requirements: Yes, Fridays as needed for hospital scanning
  • Holidays:
    • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it
    • If 2 major holidays fall, expected to work both
    • If 3 major holidays fall, expected to work 2 of them
    • Major holidays include New Year’s Eve/Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day

Compliance & Orientation

  • Full compliance required to start on time
  • Non-compliance results in a 2-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • Number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours depends on contract length (e.g., 19 hours for 19-week assignment)
  • Clinical screening required to determine fit before final manager decision

Required Certifications & Competencies

  • Certifications:
    • ARDMS, CCI, NT (required)
    • ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, EFM as applicable (refer to specialty requirements)
    • State License verification (Georgia license required for CRTs & RRTs)
    • Tech Certification verification (national certification if applicable)
  • Competency Exams:
    • Medication Test/Pharmacology (for RNs and LVNs)
    • Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (for applicable specialties)
    • General competency exams as required by Aya

Health & Background Requirements

  • Background Checks:
    • Comprehensive background check required within 30 days of start
    • Includes criminal, sex offender, education verification, and more
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
    • TB questionnaire updated annually
    • Immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer), Varicella, Hepatitis B (series or declination)
    • Flu vaccination or declination required (strongly encouraged during flu season)
    • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions)
  • References:
    • Two clinical references required by Aya (not required by client)
  • Work History Verification:
    • Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process

Additional Information

  • Floating assignments may occur within the facility or to nearby locations as needed
  • Dress and professional appearance policy must be reviewed and followed
  • Candidate must review and sign the Code of Conduct prior to start

This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity OB and cardiology sonography setting with a supportive team and advanced technology systems. Candidates should be prepared for on-call responsibilities and holiday work as outlined.
