Description

Therapy/Rehabilitation Travel/Contract Job in Macon, Georgia

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday
  • 1 weekend per month required
  • No on-call duties
  • Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed

Contract Length

  • 14 weeks

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year experience
  • First-time travelers accepted

Holidays

  • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
  • If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
  • If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work 2 of them

Major Holidays Include:

  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving/Black Friday
  • Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
  • New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Orientation & Compliance

  • Full compliance required to start on time
  • Non-compliance results in 2-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)

Licensure & Certifications Requirements

  • State License verification within 30 days prior to start (Georgia license required for CRTs & RRTs)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required for certain specialties (e.g., ER, Critical Care, RRT, CRT)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required except for Microbiology Techs and Med Techs
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required for RN’s in certain pediatric-related specialties
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) required for applicable specialties
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) online course required within a few months of hire (no renewal required)
  • STABLE certification required for NICU
  • NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on specialty
  • Allied Annual License Verification (if applicable) within 30 days prior to start
  • NURSYS verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP within 30 days prior to start

Background Checks & Verifications

  • Background check required within 30 days of start, must be complete prior to start
  • Education verification required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
  • Diplomas required for RRTs
  • Transcript/Diploma may be required depending on specialty

Competency Exams

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required for RNs and LVNs by Aya only
  • Color Blind Testing required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed
  • Competency Exam required for Nursing and Allied by Aya only
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required for Telemetry, ICU, ER, and related units; up to 3 attempts allowed

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam required within 1 year of start
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months of start; can start with TB test pending if TB questionnaire on file
  • TB Questionnaire required annually for all candidates
  • Immunizations required or proof of immunity for:
    • Rubeola (Measles) – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
    • Mumps – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
    • Rubella – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
    • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B series or signed declination (special requirements for privileging specialties)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap preferred for privileging specialties; declination form available
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination required annually during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)

Drug Testing

  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start required; cannot start with results pending
  • Instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions (e.g., quick start)
  • Drug screen codes and procedures must be followed precisely

Additional Requirements

  • References: 2 clinical references required by Aya (not required by client)
  • Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
  • Work history verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process

Notes

  • Locals accepted at same rate as travelers
  • Aya offer contingent on clinical pass within RTO guidelines and meeting facility requirements
  • Manager reviews candidate profile within 48 hours of confirmation to determine fit
  • Floating may be required within facility and scope of practice
