Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (5 eight-hour shifts, no weekends)
Holiday Schedule: Every other holiday
Certifications Required:
- CCI, AE, or RDCS certifications
Key Requirements and Compliance
Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – ARC and AHA accepted
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA and ARC accepted; required for all except Case Managers, Histo Techs, and MLTs
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – ARC, AHA accepted (if applicable)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – AHA, AAP accepted (if applicable)
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy) – ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate required for Chemo, Oncology, and Infusion RNs
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – ENA cert accepted (if applicable)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – Required for Behavioral Health nurses
- State License Verification – Primary source verification required within 30 days of start for new and extension contracts
- NURSYS Verification – Required for all RNs/LPNs within 30 days of start for new and extension contracts
- Other specialty certifications may be required depending on unit assignment
Background Checks
- 7-year criminal background check within 60 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM checks required within 30 days of start and updated every 30 days
- HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated every 30 days
- Education verification through a 3rd party vendor (official transcripts required; photocopies not accepted)
- Fingerprinting via Virginia State Police National Criminal Background Check (effective 7/15/2025) as required by unit
- Abuse Registry Search required only for candidates assigned to Unit 5 East and Behavioral Health units (processed within 45 days prior to start)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination (no declinations or exemptions allowed)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (2-step PPD required; Qgold acceptable; Tspot not accepted)
- Annual TB questionnaire if past positive
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella – 2 vaccines or positive titer required; no declinations/exemptions accepted for Rubeola
- Hepatitis B – Positive Hep B Surface Antibody titer required; if low/negative, Hep B Antigen titer also required
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or titer required; declination accepted but must be documented
- Drug testing – 10-panel drug screen including Marijuana and Fentanyl required within 2 months of start and updated annually
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination – Required annually with no exemptions or declinations accepted
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Completion of various forms prior to start including:
- EH Screening Form
- Professional Appearance Guidelines acknowledgment
- Release Authorization
- TB Screening
- Traveler Compliance acknowledgment
- Fit Testing Acknowledgement (if patient-facing role)
- Latex Natural Rubber Questionnaire (if applicable)
- Pass/Fail Cardiac Rhythm Assessment required during orientation for adult inpatient RN positions and Mother-Baby units (not required for Allied workers, Case Managers, Oncology or Chemo RNs, Wound Care RNs, NICU, PICU, Pediatrics, Pediatric ER, Behavioral Health, Dialysis, OR, CVOR, Outpatient Clinic)
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- General Competency Exam as required
Additional Notes
- Radiation badges for new candidates are no longer provided by the agency; new hires must obtain badges through the facility
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required
- Performance evaluations and internal evaluations required if previously worked with the agency for over 1 year
