Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Newnan, Georgia
Specialty: Registered Nurse

Unit Details

  • Patient Diagnoses: General medical surgical & Peritoneal dialysis
  • Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
  • Call: None
  • Floating: Within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year (first-time travelers accepted)

Assignment Expectations

  • RTO (Return to Office): Maximum 7 days
  • Holidays:
    • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
    • If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
    • If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work 2 of them
  • Major Holidays Include:
    Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
  • Orientation Hours: Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
  • Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule

Required Credentials & Certifications

  • Licenses:
    • State License verification within 30 days prior to start (Georgia license required for CRTs & RRTs)
    • Annual NURSYS verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for many specialties including ER, Critical Care, Labor & Delivery, etc.
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required except for Microbiology Techs and Med Techs
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for RN’s in PACU/Pre-op/Endo/CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), ER
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required as per specialty
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – Online course required within a few months of hire; no re-certification required
    • Tech Cert Verification (National) – If applicable, within 30 days prior to start
  • Competency Exams:
    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs and LVNs by Aya)
    • Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed)
    • Competency Exam (required for Nursing and Allied by Aya)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, ICU, PCU, etc.) – 3 attempts allowed; failure results in cancellation

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Background Check required within 30 days of start, including:
    • County and national criminal searches
    • Sex offender registry
    • Education verification (degree verification required; can be pending with proof)
  • Transcript/Diploma required for RRTs
  • Education verification required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
  • Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start (required by Aya, not client)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months of start (PPD, QGold, or TSpot)
  • TB Questionnaire required annually for all candidates
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or signed declination)
    • Varicella
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions
  • Flu Vaccination or Declination required for flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)

Additional Requirements

  • References: 2 clinical references required by Aya (not required by client)
  • Skills Checklist: Updated within 12 months
  • Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process

  • Locals accepted at same rate
  • Candidate profile reviewed by manager within 48 hours after confirmation to determine fit
  • Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time
