Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: Newnan, Georgia
Specialty: Registered Nurse
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Unit Details
- Minimum Experience: 1 year (no first-time travelers accepted)
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
- Call: None
- Floating: Required within facility and scope of practice; must be willing to float to IMC and Med Surg units
Assignment Expectations
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum: 7 days
- Holiday Work:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler must work it
- If 2 major holidays fall, traveler must work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, traveler must work 2 of them
- Major Holidays Include:
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving/Black Friday
- Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
- New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance required to start on time
- Non-compliance results in a 2-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Orientation hours vary by contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
Required Credentials & Certifications
- Licenses:
- State License verification within 30 days prior to start (Georgia license required)
- Annual NURSYS verification within 30 days prior to start
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC accepted
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for many specialties including ER, Critical Care, IMCU, Labor & Delivery, etc.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for certain specialties like ER, PACU/Pre-op if pediatric patients accepted
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required if applicable
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – Online course required within a few months of hire (no renewal required)
- Tech Cert Verification (if applicable)
- Competency Exams:
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required by Aya for RNs and LVNs)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Tele, IMCU, ER, ICU, etc.) – 3 attempts allowed; failure results in cancellation
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
Background & Health Requirements
- Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of start, including education verification
- Physical Exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions
- TB Testing: Negative PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; TB Questionnaire required annually
- Immunizations/Vaccinations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer required
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required
- Hepatitis B: Series, antibody titer, or signed declination required
- Flu Vaccine or Declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)

- References: 2 clinical references required by Aya
- Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually within 12 months
- Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process

- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Floating may include IMC and Med Surg units
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
