Travel RN Opportunity – Med Surg

Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Facility: Rehabilitation Institute (Med Surg Unit)

Position Details

• Specialty: Med Surg RN
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: Every third weekend, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• Call Requirements: None
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Number of Openings: 1
• Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
• Float Requirements: Must be willing to float to other units within the facility

Unit Information

• Department: MedSurg
• Floor: 3 South
• Number of Beds: 10
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 (Day and Night shifts)
• Patient Population: Adult mix acuity
• Equipment Used:

  • Tube feeding
  • Ventilator
  • Tracheostomy care
  • Alaris IV Pumps
  • Hoyer lifts
  • Kangaroo pumps
  • Negative pressure wound therapy
  • Suction devices
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Cerner and ITW

Required Skills & Experience

• Tracheostomy care and G-Tube management
• Ventilator experience
• Preferred: Med Surg experience

Personality & Dress Code

• Personality Fit: Compassionate, strong communication skills, willing to educate patients and families, self-learner
• Dress Code: Galaxy Blue scrubs
• Unacceptable Attire: Hoodies, t-shirts, sweatshirts, or any clothing outside the uniform
