Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Brownwood, Texas
Start Date: January 19
Specialty: MS/Telemetry RN
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • May consider candidates who live at least 50 miles from the facility on a case-by-case basis.

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (AHA only; Instructor, Provider, and RQI acceptable)
  • BLS (AHA only; Instructor, Provider, and RQI acceptable)
  • PALS (AHA only; Instructor, Provider, and RQI acceptable)
  • NRP (as applicable)
  • CHEMO (as applicable)
  • TNCC (as applicable)
  • EFM (as applicable)
  • ENPC (as applicable)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (as applicable; annual updates required)
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) for Telemetry RNs
  • State License Verification (within 30 days of start)
  • NURSYS Verification (within 30 days of start)
  • Tech Cert Verification (within 30 days of start)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual update required)
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing (Telemetry RNs)

Background Checks & Verifications

  • 7-year background check required within 1 year of start; update annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • Education Verification (highest level) or transcript/diploma
  • Texas-specific checks:
    • DADS Employability Status Check within 30 days of start
    • Employee Misconduct Registry within 30 days of start

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
  • Fit test (annual; 3M 1860 Regular or 1860S mask required)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (time sensitive; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
  • TB Questionnaire (annual)
  • Rubeola (Measles): Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; MMR booster if negative/equivocal
  • Mumps: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; MMR booster if negative/equivocal
  • Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; MMR booster if negative/equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination; booster or declination post titer acceptable
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; booster if negative/equivocal
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start; no pending results allowed
  • Flu seasonal vaccination or exemption required for 2025-26 season

Competency Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
  • Color Blind Testing (online Ishihara test acceptable)
  • Competency Exam (as applicable)

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion of orientation modules (~3-4 hours)
  • Review and sign various facility-specific acknowledgments and agreements prior to start, including:
    • Vaccination Information Acknowledgment
    • TB and Occupational Exposure Acknowledgment
    • Patient Centered Pledge
    • Contract Employee Receipt and Acknowledgement
    • Computer Security Agreement
    • Corporate Compliance Acknowledgment
    • Confidentiality Statement
    • Employee Misconduct Registry Acknowledgment
    • Self Identify Form
    • Relationship to Physician Form
    • Authorization for Background Check
