Position Details

• Role: Cath Lab Technician with experience in Cardiac Cath and at least two of the following modalities: Interventional Radiology, Vascular, or Neuro.
• Experience Required: Minimum 18 months in specialty; 2 years preferred.
• First-timers Accepted: Yes
• Start Date: Next orientation date approximately 3-4 weeks out
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours:

  • 36 hours for 12-hour shifts
  • 40 hours for 8 or 10-hour shifts
• Weekend Requirement: Can be discussed with manager
• Call Requirement: Case-by-case basis, no set schedule but required
• Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs and to sister facilities within 20 miles (3 hospitals)
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated
• Locals Accepted: Yes, locals receive same rate
• Pending License: Not accepted
• Smoke-Free Facility: All travelers must be nicotine-free (negative 10 panel drug screen including nicotine required)

Certifications & Licenses Required

• National Certifications:

  • Certified or Registered Cardiovascular Tech (RCVT) preferred
  • RCIS also preferred
• Mandatory Certifications:

  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider card or RQI acceptable
  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider card or RQI acceptable
• Other Certifications:

  • National certification verification required within 30 days of start
  • State license primary source verification within 30 days of start (FL Radiographer license required for IR Techs)
• Additional Certifications (if applicable): PALS, NRP, CHEMO, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Fingerprinting:

  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start
  • Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide
• Drug Testing:

  • Negative 10 panel drug screen plus nicotine test within 1 year of start
  • Drug screen does not need annual renewal unless expiring during contract
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Required immunizations or titers: Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
  • COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required

Additional Requirements

• References: Two professional references within 2 years of start required for travel and acute care positions
• Performance Evaluation: Required if worked with the system over 1 year

• Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually for applicable units
• Orientation & Training:

  • Online training modules must be completed by due date prior to start (access provided after contract signing)
  • Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; video must be watched before test
  • Time-sensitive modules must be prioritized immediately upon assignment confirmation
• Facility Specific:

  • Omnicell Access Form required for RNs (only highlighted sections)
  • Facility issues radiation badges to applicable candidates

Notes

• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront with application; late requests likely will not be approved.
• Floating to sister facilities within 20 miles is required.
• This is a nicotine-free facility with strict drug screening policies.
• Candidates must be aware of and complete all required onboarding modules promptly.
