Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Columbus, Ohio

Job Details
- Shift: Rotating weeknights and weekends, including holidays
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) preferred; Medical-Surgical (MS RN) considered
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:3-4
- Floating: Required to float to different units within the hospital system as needed
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 2 years of PCU or Med-Surg nursing experience
- EPIC electronic medical record experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification (required for most ICU, PCU, ED, and Brain & Spine units)
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Certification (AHA approved, instructor/provider or RQI acceptable)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required within 1 year of start and annually thereafter
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required prior to start
- Unit-specific competency exams required
- State nursing license verification within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification required for RNs
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required annually
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific code 3701.881)
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
- Education accreditation confirmation from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA, or CASN)
- Transcript or diploma verification required
- Pending background check attestation allowed if fingerprint results are pending
- Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
- Dress code and hand hygiene policy acknowledgment required
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive
- TB questionnaire required annually in lieu of TB test
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series; declination accepted
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemption possible with documentation
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); decliners must wear a mask
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

Additional Notes
- Candidates must be prepared for fingerprinting and background check processes specific to Ohio
- Floating to different units may require flexibility and adaptability
