Registered Nurse (OR) - Travel/Contract

Location: Mansfield, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Operating Room (OR) nurse skilled in orthopedic, neurological, robotic, and general surgeries
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:30 - 19:00) on Monday, Thursday, and Friday
• Call schedule rotates every 6 weeks:

  • One weekday call shift (18:30 - 07:00)
  • One Friday call shift (18:30 - 07:00)
  • One weekend call shift (Saturday or Sunday, either 06:30 - 07:00 or 18:30 - 07:00)

Required Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for OR and other critical care areas
• BLS (Basic Life Support): Required
• Pass/Fail Testing: Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam and Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required with a maximum of two attempts
• State Nursing License: Verification required
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., TNCC, PALS, NRP, EFM) — verify with unit job description

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check including county criminal search, sex offender search, and state police investigation (for behavioral health)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Drug testing (10-panel) within 30 days of start (no rapid screens)
• Verification of professional references (2 within last 3 years)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test completed onsite during orientation, updated annually
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination required
• Negative TB test (TSpot or QGold) within 12 months, with annual follow-up if positive
• Required immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series and positive titer or signed declination form)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Documentation Required Before Start

• Valid government-issued photo ID or passport
• I9 or attestation form
• E-Verify or attestation
• Photo for badge (passport style, clear background)
• Signed job description and facility-specific forms (e.g., Hepatitis B declination if applicable)
