Description

Job Opportunity: Therapy/Rehabilitation - Travel/Contract

Location: San Angelo, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
EMR System: EPIC


Job Description

  • Suitable for first-time travelers with prior acute care clinical rotation experience.
  • Comfortable working in acute care settings.
  • 3-6 weekend shifts per contract (rotating weekends).

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or ARC accepted.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC accepted.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): AHA or ARC accepted; ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain for longer assignments.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): Required as applicable.
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy): Required as applicable.
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course): Required for ER; ICU RNs have 1 year to obtain for longer assignments.
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Required as applicable.
  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course): Required as applicable.
  • NIH Stroke Certification: Required for ICU and PCU as applicable.
  • State License Verification: Required within 30 days of start.
  • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP): Required within 30 days of start.
  • Tech Cert Verification - National: Required within 30 days of start.
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement: Required and updated annually.
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing: Required.
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Includes medication administration, restraint, and glucometer tests during orientation.

Background Checks & Verifications

  • 7-year background check required within 30 days of start.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
  • Education verification required; diploma may be accepted temporarily if verification is pending.
  • Legal name must match on all documentation (license, social security card, certifications).

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
  • Fit Mask Test: Within 6 months prior to start; annual updates required.
  • Vaccinations & Titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year)
    • TB Questionnaire (annual)
    • Rubeola (Measles) - positive titer or 2 vaccines
    • Mumps - positive titer or 2 vaccines
    • Rubella - positive titer or 2 vaccines
    • Hepatitis B - positive titer or series with declination if applicable
    • Varicella - positive titer, 2 vaccines, or proof of disease
    • Flu Seasonal Vaccination or declination (during flu season)
    • COVID initial series required (boosters not required)
  • Drug Testing: Required within 30 days; must include a panel of common substances.

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Clear, passport-style photo for badge.
  • Completion of various facility forms prior to start, including:
    • Non-Employee Information Form
    • Vaccine Exemption Form (if applicable)
    • Applicant Health Record Form
    • Code of Conduct and Compliance Form
    • Compact-Temporary License Declaration of Residency Form
    • Confidentiality Statement Form
    • Information System Security Agreement Form
    • Non-Employee Orientation Update Form
    • Traveler Orientation

Additional Requirements

  • 2 professional references within 3 years of start.
  • Copy of resume or employment application.
  • Skills checklist updated annually.
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable.
  • Competency exams as applicable by profession.

This position offers an opportunity to work in an acute care environment with adult and geriatric patients, utilizing EPIC EMR, and requires a variety of certifications and compliance with health and background screening protocols. Rotating weekend shifts are part of the schedule.
