Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Lacey, Washington
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Position Details

  • Role: Radiation Therapist
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Shift: 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (Day shift)
  • Daily Caseload: 50-60 patients
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
  • First-time Travelers: Accepted
  • Weekend Requirement: No
  • On-call Requirement: No
  • Floating: Required; travelers will float regularly between similar units within their skill set
  • Block Schedule: Not available
  • Local Candidates: Not accepted (residence must be more than 50 miles from facility)
  • Pending License: Accepted
  • Special Requirements: Experience with SRS, SBRT, IMRT, 3D, IGRT, electron setups; variety of malignant and benign patient diagnoses
  • Charting System: EPIC

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ARRT-T (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Therapeutic)
  • Washington State License

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

  • Must have a background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
  • Includes SSN Trace, Death Master Index, Counties, Nationwide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification, MVR (if applicable), and international background search if applicable
  • Returning candidates with less than 30-day gap may not require new background check
  • State-specific searches required for Washington and border states
  • OBRA Registry search required for CNAs in Washington Skilled Nursing Facilities (not applicable here)

Health Documents

  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit Mask test (annual, travel only)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer or declination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer or declination
  • 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccine or declination during flu season
  • COVID vaccine or declination
  • Respirator Safety Clearance (RespSafety) for travel candidates, annual

Employment History and References

  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
  • Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years (6 months for CNAs)

Skills and Competency

  • Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Color Blind Testing if required by unit
  • Competency exams as required by specialty

Floating Policy

  • Floating between Providence facilities within a reasonable distance is required
  • Acknowledgement of float policy required

Training and Modules

  • Completion of Providence WorkRamp modules required prior to start, including:
    • Core modules based on profession and region
    • Specialty-specific modules if applicable
    • Annual regulatory modules
    • Epic training modules (for applicable locations)

Notes

  • Radiation badges are issued by the facility (not the agency)
  • Local travelers within 50 miles are not eligible for travel contract
  • Pending licenses accepted with proper documentation
  • All required documentation must be submitted prior to start or as specified

This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized outpatient cancer care setting with a focus on advanced radiation therapy techniques. Candidates must be flexible with floating and meet all certification, licensing, and compliance requirements.
