Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Brownwood, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Dates: Must start on January 5 or January 19
Distance Consideration: Candidates at least 50 miles from the facility may be considered on a case-by-case basis


Required Documentation & Compliance

Identification & Verification

  • I9 or Attestation
  • Government Issued Photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • E-Verify or Attestation
  • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) within 30 days of start
  • State License Verification within 30 days of start
  • Texas-specific:
    • TULIP Employability Status Check within 30 days of start
    • Employee Misconduct Registry Results within 30 days of start

Background Checks

  • 7 Year Background Check within 1 year of start; update annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • Education Verification (highest level) or transcript/diploma
  • State-specific searches replaced by Texas DADS Employability Status and Employee Misconduct Registry checks

Certifications (AHA ONLY unless otherwise noted)

  • ACLS (Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable)
  • BLS (Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable)
  • PALS (Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable)
  • NRP (as applicable)
  • CHEMO (as applicable)
  • TNCC (as applicable)
  • EFM (as applicable)
  • ENPC (as applicable)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (annual updates required)
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for Telemetry RNs
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual update)
  • Tech Cert Verification - National (within 30 days of start)

Competencies

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
  • Competency Exam (as applicable)
  • Color Blind Testing (online Ishihara test acceptable)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
  • Fit Mask Test (annual; 3M 1860 Regular or 1860S required)
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray (within 72 hours of contract signing)
    • Negative QGold or Tspot within 1 year of start
    • For positive PPD responders: negative chest X-ray within 5 years and annual TB questionnaire
  • TB Questionnaire (annual)
  • Immunizations (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing):
    • Rubeola (Measles): Positive titer or 2 vaccines; MMR booster if negative/equivocal
    • Mumps: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; MMR booster if negative/equivocal
    • Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; MMR booster if negative/equivocal
    • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series (3), or declination; booster or declination post titer acceptable
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; booster if negative/equivocal
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start; no pending results allowed
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination or exemption for 2025-26 season

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion and signing of multiple acknowledgments and forms prior to start, including:
    • Vaccination Information Acknowledgment
    • TB and Occupational Exposure Acknowledgment
    • Patient Centered Pledge
    • Contract Employee Receipt and Acknowledgement
    • Computer Security Agreement
    • Corporate Compliance Acknowledgment
    • Confidentiality Statement
    • Employee Misconduct Registry Acknowledgment
    • Self Identify Form
    • Relationship to Physician Form
    • Authorization for Background Check
    • Traveler Identification Form
  • Review of Employee Handbook (information only)
  • Completion of orientation modules (~3-4 hours)
  • Parking available for orientation and employment (no fee)

  • 2 References within 3 years of start
  • Copy of Resume/Application required
  • Skills Checklist (annual update)
