Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Portland, Oregon
Facility Type: Children's Hospital
Job Details

- Shift: 12-hour shifts, 12N - 48
- Start Date: ASAP, any Wednesday in November, December, or January
- Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Weekends and holidays required as needed
- Floating: Refusal to float as requested will result in contract cancellation. Floating within the site and across the system is expected.
- Charting System: Epic
- Parking: Free in any unrestricted space
Requirements
- Licensure:
- Oregon State RN License or proof of Oregon State License application/fingerprints required at submission
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years specialty experience preferred (1 year of strong experience may be considered)
- Previous travel experience preferred
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Advanced - required for L&D RNs
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring or Relias Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring accepted)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - required for ER and Kids Team RN
- MFTI Certification preferred
- Training: Will train on Epic system
Facility Expectations
- Complete any assigned education within one week of assignment
- Low census mandatory cancellation requires 1.5 hours notice before shift start
- Personnel may be mandatorily cancelled one shift per two-week pay period without cause or penalty
Background and Compliance
- Criminal background check required (7-year search including SSN trace, nationwide, sex offender, county, federal, FACIS L3, and international if applicable)
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start (not required annually)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year prior to start
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination (Td not accepted)
- Required immunizations or titers: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
- Flu vaccine or signed declination required annually (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID vaccine documentation or declination required
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually unless no patient interaction
- Two professional references required (supervisory or above, within 3 years)
Additional Notes
- Scrub color: Any color except black and camo for all specialties/units
- Refusal to float or complete required education may result in contract cancellation
- Facility open to assignments longer than 13 weeks
This position is ideal for RNs with pediatric specialty experience who are flexible with floating and able to meet certification and compliance requirements.
