Job Opportunity: Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Mound City, Missouri

Job Description

• Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders.
• Develop and adjust plans of care following regulatory and clinical practice standards.
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices.
• Assess patient progress and modify treatments accordingly.
• Evaluate treatment outcomes and make referrals as needed.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and healthcare team members regarding patient progress and treatment plans.
• Document all required information accurately in electronic systems and maintain patient records.
• Record treatment minutes per regulatory and clinical requirements.
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and required trainings.
• Obtain necessary durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies as needed.
• Supervise and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or Student Speech-Language Pathologists.
• Adhere to ASHA and State practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics.
• Maintain active ASHA certification and Missouri State Licensure.

Requirements

• Specialty Experience: Minimum 1 year of SLP experience required. New graduates are acceptable if they have completed Level II experience (not just Level I observation).
• Additional Experience: LTC (Long-Term Care) or Rehab experience required.
• Licensure: Missouri State License required (Compact allowed).
• Certification: CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) certified SLP required.
• Preferred: 3 years experience holding active CCS certification preferred.
• References: One reference accepted at time of submission.

Work Environment & Productivity

• Typical treatment times for SLP are approximately 30 minutes per session.
• Caseload may range from 10-14 patients per day depending on evaluation load.
• Group therapy is allowed, which supports productivity.
• Therapists typically have dedicated devices for documentation.
